#notowar Letterpress United
As a reaction to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, the Letterpress United team launched a call for anti-war posters to involve letterpress printers worldwide.

I took a Letterpress studio class at Columbia College Chicago taught by Richard Zeid and he always introduced us to the community of printmakers and great off-campus projects like this.

The prompt of the anti-war poster was to print “NO TO WAR” in your own language. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to Japanese letter blocks here in the states so I decided to create them using geometric shapes and wiglets. I am very happy with the outcome of the pixel letters and it was a challenging yet inspiring project to work on.
While printing this #notowar poster, I felt devastated and heartbroken for what is going on in Ukraine today, yet also empowered to create something that holds great meaning.
